1.

When purchasing a wooden brush, you may want to make sure that it has natural bristles made of 100% wood.

In fact, sometimes those that are called 'wooden brush' are just regular hair brushes with a wooden handle!

2.

Using a wooden brush makes your hair thicker: gently massaging your scalp with its wooden knobs lead to better blood circulation, resulting in better conditioning of the hair follicles.

Also, the knobs on the end help removing scalp build-up and this promotes follicle health and hair growth.

3.

While combing through your hair, a wooden brush grabs the natural oil secreted by your scalp (sebum) from your roots and evenly distributes it throughout you hair. This makes your hair softer and smoother!

4.

Wooden brushes and combs don't cause frizz or static: they remove any existing static in the hair since wood acts as an insulator and absorbs all the charge.

5.

They detangle the knots without pulling or damaging your hair.

6.

They are more hygienic and easier to clean, but never use detergents or harsh chemicals on them. Avoid using water too, since it can damage them.

HOW TO CLEAN THEM:

First, clean the hair from your brush using a tool like a pen, a toothbrush or a comb. Then, use a few drops of tea tree oil, flaxseed oil or linseed oil in a cup of water and apply to the wooden brush or comb using a toothbrush, and scrub in upward motions. Once it dries, gently wipe it with a damp cloth.
